Chemotherapy ward to relocate

The Island's chemotherapy ward is moving to a new location inside the main Noble's Hospital building.

The chemotherapy service has been in a temporary location in Ward 20 in a separate building since early last year, but the equipment is now being moved to Ward 5.

The Department of Health and Social Care says the move is in line with best practice, improving safety for patients as they will be closer to medical support if it's needed.

The move comes after a legacy of £215,000 was bequeathed to Noble's to fund new cancer equipment.

The funds will only be used to buy new equipment and not fund the relocation, which will take place at the start of 2018.
