Over 150 attended public requisition meeting in Bride yesterday

Over 150 people attended a public requisition meeting in Bride last night.

The meeting had been called to enable people to express their views about the proposed development of Glen Truan golf course.

Pure Leisure Group wants to develop luxury leisure facilities at the site in the north of the Island, including 55 log cabins, a luxury clubhouse and spa and wellbeing facilities.

Most of those who attended the meeting were opposed to the idea.

Local residents raised concerns about the impact on the environment, population and amount of traffic.
