The headteacher of one of the Island's primary schools says she feels demoralised after returning from the summer holidays to find a large amount of vandalism in the school grounds.
Rose Burton of Willaston School found holes in decking, three smashed windows, broken fence posts, broken outdoor equipment, graffiti and littering when the new school year started earlier this week.
The headteacher described the damage as really upsetting, leaving the school feeling demoralised at the start of the new term.
The school has CCTV in place and has been working with parents and the police to identify those responsible.
Willaston School is also working with nearby Cronk-Y-Berry School to invite local youngsters in to discuss the issues schools face and try to find solutions.
