Extra medical staff to cover TT fortnight cost the Government nearly £40,000 this year.
The Department of Health and Social Care brought in five additional orthopaedic doctors for the period, costing £30,902.
An additional £8,330 was needed to secure evening cover for the hospital and Air Ambulance Service.
The DHSC also revealed nine patients needed to be transferred off Island to the Aintree Major Trauma Centre as a result of TT-related injuries, with each transfer costing an average of £4,350, although the cost of the transfers was recovered through travel insurance.
The figured were revealed in response to a Freedom of Information request.
