The Government wants to encourage more people to walk and cycle as part of their daily routines.
The Department of Infrastructure has launched a consultation as it proposes creating a culture where walking and cycling are natural choices.
The 2011 census revealed 14.2% of people walk or cycle to work, but the DoI wants to increase this to 20% by 2020.
The public, local businesses, local authorities and other interest groups are being invited to respond to the consultation.
It's hoped encouraging the public to walk and cycle will improve physical and mental health, as well as reducing congestion and improving air quality.
The consultation can be found on the Government's website, with responses to be submitted by September 25th.
