42 sex crimes reported in first six months of 2017

42 sex-related crimes were reported to the Island's police in the first six months of this year.
19 of the crimes have been discontinued or judged not to be a crime, while 14 remain live investigations.
The incidents reported to the Isle of Man Constabulary include 16 rapes, 10 indecent assaults on females and 10 indecent assaults on under 16s.
Only nine of the 42 reported crimes have so far resulted in criminal charges being filed.
