The Home Affairs Minister says the former Lord Street Police Station building is being used as office space by another Government department.
Bill Malarkey revealed in this month's sitting of Tynwald that his Department no longer needs the facility, so has let the Department of Infrastructure's Transport Division use office space on the ground and first floor.
The building is in the process of being transferred to the DoI, who is responsible for Government properties.
Mr Malarkey believes the building will help the Government reduce the amount of rented properties it currently uses.
The Minister also confirmed his Department is looking for a site in Lower Douglas to provide a police presence from, following the closure of Lord Street last April.
