The Manx Government is giving more than £80,000 to a charity to help rebuild two schools destroyed in an earthquake in Nepal.

The Pahar Trust has received a grant of £82,545 to replace the school, which were damaged in an earthquake in the country two years ago.

The loss of the schools has resulted in overcrowding in another school, while some classes are being taken in temporary tarpaulin shelters.

The charity estimates the total cost of the project is more than £110,000, with on-Island fundraising contributing to the total.

The Government previously provided £150,000 of emergency support following the earthquake, and says it's delighted to be able to continue to support the country.

The Pahar Trust has built more than 80 schools in Nepal.
