Youths swimming in harbour interrupts Coastguard training exercise
Tue, 18 Jul 2017
Douglas Coastguards had been taking part in a training exercise when they were called away.
A coastguard team had to break away from a training exercise after a group of youths were spotted swimming in a no swim zone.
Around 15 to 20 youngsters were swimming in a prohibited area in Douglas harbour while Douglas Coastguard was taking part in an exercise on Marine Drive.
Officers advised the group where it was safe to swim and ensured they moved away from the no swim zone.
The team was then able to return to its cliff training exercise at Horses Leap.
