Police warn drivers against using phones behind the wheel
Thu, 06 Jul 2017
Police are reminding drivers to pull over to take phone calls after stopping a motorist using his phone.
Officers from the roads policing unit say the driver was so distracted by his phone he failed to spot the marked police car on the other side of the road.
As a result, the driver was handed a £120 fine and four points on his driving licence.
Police warn that drivers can't focus on driving and their phone at the same time, and should find somewhere safe to stop before touching their phone.
