Health Minister apologises for endoscopy delays

The Health Minister says the delays to endoscopy appointments was a catalyst for moving all appointments to Noble's Hospital.

It was confirmed last week that 157 patients have been waiting longer than the recommended time for follow-up endoscopy appointments.

In a statement to Tynwald, Kate Beecroft offered her apologies to those affected by the delays, admitting the underlying reason for the situation isn't fully understood.

Mrs Beecroft also said an announcement about the delayed appointments was held back until all patients had been contacted.

Those affected by the situation have been offered priority appointments.
