The Health Minister admits she's concerned about the lack of accommodation available to relatives of Manx patients at the new Royal Liverpool Hospital.
Those travelling with Manx residents undergoing hospital treatment can currently stay at a stand-alone facility at a nearby budget-priced hotel, but the lease on that facility will expire when the new hospital opens.
Relatives will still be able to book accommodation at Broadgreen, but Kate Beecroft warns this is less convenient than staying in the city centre.
Mrs Beecroft says the new hospital should be welcomed overall, but that the lack of facilities for families could cause difficulties.
All rooms at the new hospital are single rooms, but will have recliners available for relatives to stay overnight.
