Changes to school catchment areas proposed
Fri, 09 Jun 2017
Education Minister Graham Cregeen MHK
The Island's primary schools catchment areas could be changing from next year.
The Education and Children Minister will ask this month's sitting of Tynwald to make a number of changes to the current boundaries.
Graham Cregeen wants to update a number of catchment areas, affecting pupils in the west of the Island and Onchan.
It's hoped the proposed changes will mean a more even distribution of pupils.
If approved, the changes will come into force from September, but with pupils already signed up for the next academic year, admissions from 2018 would mainly be affected.
