A large tree stump caused the latest blockage at the Energy from Waste Plant
The Island's Energy from Waste Plant has had to be shut down for the third time in a week following a blockage.
The Department of Infrastructure confirmed a large tree stump around 3ft in diameter has blocked the system.
As a result, the DoI is planning to increase spot checks to detect oversized items to prevent further issues.
Work is underway to fix the problem, and it's hoped the plant will be start up tomorrow.
The Department says clearing blockages takes up to 48 hours and can cost thousands of pounds.
