The Mountain Road will be closed for up to 15 days in April in order to undergo maintenance.
The Department of Infrastructure says the work is essential the enhance the quality and safety of one of the Island's main strategic routes.
The works will includes planing and overlays on a 500m section of carriageway at the Bungalow, which the Department says has become badly rutted.
The route will close from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa from Saturday April 8th and reopen no later than April 23rd.
The DoI insists the scheme will improve to ride quality of the road for all users, including those competing in the TT and Festival of Motorcycling.
TT preparation work such as road lining and sign maintenance will also be carried out while the road closure is in place.
