Police are appealing for information after a resident in the south of the Island had their oil tank drained.
Thieves have drained a domestic heating oil tank in the Colby area at some point over the last week.
Officers say the theft has left the resident £500 out of pocket.
Police are urging anyone who sees suspicious activity like unmarked vans with fuel bowsers to report it.
Those with oil tanks are also being advised to use padlocks and consider setting up CCTV to deter thieves.
Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact Castletown Police Station on 822222.
