Steam Packet assessing damage after Ben crash

The Steam Packet Company is assessing damage to the Ben-my-Chree after the vessel hit the pier while docking in Douglas last night.

Engineers have been working on the boat overnight, while divers will inspect the damage this morning in daylight.

The Steam Packet has blamed stronger than forecast winds for the incident, which resulted in last night's crossings being cancelled.

Footage of the incident from passengers on board can be viewed on the Energy FM Isle of Man Facebook page.

An update on today's services is expected around 8am.
