Private companies are being invited to apply to run the Island's meat plant.
The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture is seeking expressions of interest from firms who can make the plant more competitive and save public money.
In 2016 the facility needed a Government subvention of almost £1.4m - resulting in a review into the future of the plant.
DEFA held a meeting with those in the Island's agricultural industry earlier this week to discuss the options, which had included closing the plant.
It's expected the entire process will be completed within 12 months.
