MHK seeks phone mast information

An MHK will ask a series of questions about telephone masts in next week's sitting of the House of Keys.

Douglas North member David Ashford wants to know if the planning committee consider asking telecoms firms to share masts when reviewing new applications.

Mr Ashford will also enquire about which masts are currently shared, and what action is being done to encourage broadcasters to share masts.

Sure applied for permission to add an antenna to boost its coverage in Mr Ashford's constituency late last year, while Manx Telecom had an application to build a mast nearby rejected.
