A Manxman is preparing to take charge of a platoon of 30 soldiers following his graduation from the Sandhurst Royal Military Academy.
Officer Cadet Christopher Bolton was among the latest group to pass out at the academy following a 44-week intensive military and academic training programme.
Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall was present for the graduation, which also saw the 29-year-old promoted to Second Lieutenant.
Those who graduate from the academy are immediately given leadership roles in the military, and can be deployed on peacekeeping missions and the delivery of humanitarian aid within months of leaving Sandhurst.
Bolton will join the Adjutant General's Corps, which provides support to a number of areas in the British Army.
