The Infrastructure Minister says he's ordered a review into the Island's waste management.
The Waste Policy and Strategy document set targets of recycling 70% of waste and putting just 5% in landfill by 2022, as well as a number of other ideas.
After Garff MHK Daphne Caine requested an update on the progress, Ray Harmer told yesterday's House of Keys sitting that he intends to publish a comprehensive review of the scheme in the next 18 months - six years ahead of schedule.
The Minister claims the original targets are not well defined and difficult to measure, which he says is unacceptable.
Mr Harmer also confirmed he has been holding talks with the Island's local authorities about recycling, and that a clear recycling policy needs to be put in place so progress can be measured in the future.
