Motorists reminded to prepare cars for winter journeys
Tue, 22 Nov 2016
The police say motorists should remove all frost and ice from their car windows before setting off.
Manx motorists are being reminded of the importance of preparing their cars and paying attention to the roads over winter.
Gale force winds, freezing temperatures and heavy rain battered the Island yesterday, resulting in some roads becoming blocked by fallen trees and cars being affected by frost.
The Isle of Man Constabulary has issued a number of winter driving tips, including allowing an extra 10 minutes to make sure windows are clear of ice and mist before setting off, and checking all lights are working.
The police are also warning drivers not to use closed roads, drive to conditions and check the radio for regular travel updates.
