Work to improve the quality of the road surface along Douglas promenade will get underway later today.
The Department of Infrastructure will spend the next 16 days resurfacing between Broadway and Summerhill in two phases.
The first phase will see the stretch between Broadway and the Palace Hotel tackled, with parking suspended along the route while the work takes place.
A contraflow system will be in place so the road can be kept open to traffic in both directions
The parking suspension comes in from midday today, with traffic management being put in place after this evening's rush hour before the new surface can be laid from tomorrow.
Phase two is due to get underway next Friday, with the project completed by December 4th.
