Hundreds of thousands of pounds were lost in Government-run catering facilities on the Island last year.
Health and Social Care Minister Kate Beecroft revealed that a £627,000 loss was made through facilities at the hospital, Government canteens, schools and the NSC cafe in the 2015-16 financial year.
Noble's Hospital proved the most costly site, with the hospital kitchen making a deficit of £377,000, while the staff restaurant was down almost as much.
However, the hospital's coffee shop cancelled out almost half the loss with a £334,000 profit, while the Ramsey Cottage Kitchen also had a surplus.
The figures were revealed in a written answer in this week's House of Keys sitting following a question from Douglas North MHK David Ashford.
