Public urge to report river poachers
Tue, 01 Nov 2016
The Island's fishery authorities are urging the public to report illegal poaching from Manx rivers.
River fisheries close over the winter period - which starts today - to allow salmon and sea trout to spawn and maintain stock.
There are also bye-laws preventing netting being used to stop fish migrating to and from rivers in a protected zone from Peel bay to Ramsey harbour.
Poaching can be reported to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture on 685857, or to any of the Island's police stations.
