Castletown resident Joanthan Rea is the World Superbike Champion for a second straight year.
The 29-year-old, who is originally from Northern Ireland, finished second in the first race at the final round of the season in Qatar to retain the crown.
Rea finished on the podium in all but three of the 26 races in the 2016 season, ensuring he finished 52 points ahead of teammate Tom Sykes in the Championship.
