A major roadwork scheme in the north of the Island has been postponed until next year.
Work to resurface Lezayre Road in Ramsey and install new water and drainage systems began at the start of this week.
However, the Department of Infrastructure found it couldn't keep the road open to traffic and safely undertake the work.
After a meeting last night between the Department, Ramsey Town Commissioners and others, it was decided the push the work back.
The work will now begin again in the New Year, although a full timetable has not been released.
