Douglas lifeboat was called out after a yacht suffered engine problems near Laxey.
The small vessel had to be towed back to Douglas yesterday afternoon after breaking down off Clay Head.
The wet and foggy conditions hampered their attempts to get back to the port, forcing the skipper to anchor the vessel and call for assistance.
Although one of the five people on board the yacht had been suffering from sea sickness, all were safely brought back to Battery Pier.
