Ayre Clay Target Club had another very busy two days of shooting at Blue Point last weekend.

On Saturday we held the annual Manx Game Preservation Society Clay Sporting competition.  This was won by the four man team of Brian Mylrea, Kevin Oates, Paul Mihailovits and Paul Magee, collectively known as Three Natives and a Hungarian.  The Northern Alliance team of Alan Brew, Jamie Hancox, Wilfy Walton and Anne Callister were second, with Three Chunks and a Slim, comprising Marty Kneen, Jack Kneen, Ben Richards and Mickey Marshall taking third.  Great fun was had by all.

On Sunday morning we held an open day in conjunction with MGPS and BASC for young and old to try clay shooting.  This was the second year that we have done this and it was well attended.  Some people just kept going back for more!

On Sunday afternoon we held a fun 50 target English Sporting competition.  Ben Richards was the winner, scoring 42/50.  Kevin Oates was second on 41 with Steve Brew in third on 40.

Many thanks must go to the club members who turned out on both days to help with setting up, manning the try stands with good humour and clearing up afterwards.

This Sunday’s competition is the annual FITASC Sporting Manx Championship; entries close at 10.15am.  There will be a work party on Saturday from 1.30pm.  Please try to attend.
