The Treasury Minister has confirmed he'll be standing down as an MHK saying the role takes up "all his life".
Eddie Teare has represented the constituents of Ayre for the last 12 years but won't seek re-election in September.
The 68-year-old, who's held a number of ministerial positions during his career, says he doesn't want to commit to another five year term.
Mr Teare was forced to make significant changes to his home security after becoming the victim of a poison pen campaign over the last two years - however he says that didn't factor in his decision:
