Union consulting over Villa Gaiety outsource plans

Tynwald members are being asked for their views on the possibility of outsourcing the operation of the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre.

Prospect has approached them for their feedback - the union says it's been part of the discussions with the Department of Economic Development.

It's believed the department is preparing to conduct a tender process before looking for off-island providers to run the venues.

Prospect has told Members that it has "concerns" about the future of the complex and the potential implications for users, the public and staff.
