Failed hydraulic fitting to blame for boat delay
Mon, 11 Apr 2016
The Steam Packet has blamed problems with the Manannan last night on the failure of a 'hydraulic fitting'.
The vessel had to be helped to dock in Douglas Harbour by a tug - resulting in a delay.
The company says the failure, and strong winds, meant that one of her engines could not be used for maneuvering purposes despite it being fully functional.
Engineers swapped the faulty part overnight and the vessel left without issue for Liverpool this morning.
