An engineer from the Isle of Man has unveiled an invention that could save millions of lives and transform the way kidney disease is treated around the globe.
Vincent Garvey's design for the world's first low cost dialysis system has seen him scoop an award from The George Institute in Australia.
Nine million people need dialysis but at present only 2.6 million are receiving the treatment - the innovative system can fit into a small suitcase and uses a solar panel to power a miniature distiller.
