League 5

Caley Stores Sulby 0 Hotchkiss Associates Michael B 16

This was a comprehensive victory for Michael B team and keeps their title aspirations very much alive. This league title is going to be very closely fought as we near the end of the league season. This year in League 5, all teams are very strong (except Caley Stores Sulby) and standards are well above those seen in this League in previous seasons. Caley Store Sulby, fields a team of youth and experience, providing standards more typical of those seen  in past seasons in this league and are no match for any of them. As a consolation Sulby can always ‘win’ with their suppers.  IC

Very well done to Selborne womens C team squad with maximum possible 18 points from their six matches. This one was far from one-sided however, as Marown won four games in the first round of matches, but were unable to sustain their bright start, losing all six in round two. The concluding games saw Selborne's Lisa Hennessey and Renee Michalogiannis winning 21/19 21/13 against Isla Thomas and Abby Turton, while at numbers one and two Felicia Gawne and Jane Casey shared games 17/21 21/18 with Marown's Jess Lloyd and Michelle Garrity.  RMcM
