MHK to use short tenure to connect with people

Douglas East's new MHK Jon Joughin says he'll use the next 10 months to connect with his constituents.

The former Douglas councillor secured the seat on Thursday with 159 votes.

With under a year to go until the General Election Mr Joughin says he's realistic about how much he can achieve in this short time.

He says his campaign was built on listening to the people - and that's exactly what he intends to do:
