Changes are being made to the Legal Aid system to ensure access to justice on the Island is fair, equitable and transparent.
An independent committee has been looking at refining the system to bring it into the modern era after 14 years without a review.
It's implemented a number of ways to simplify the process whilst the first draft of its report is being finalised - this will then go to public consultation.
The steps, which are currently being phased in, include a handbook to guide advocates through the scheme, mediation guidelines and a time and cost certificate.
