People on the Isle of Man have become too complacent about home security and now "it's time to change".
This week police are sending out a crime prevention leaflet to all residential properties - it highlights things people can do to stop them becoming a victim of crime.
At the start of the year the Island came under attack from professional criminals who carried out an "unprecedented" spate of domestic burglaries - they were never caught.
Detective Inspector Mark Newey says there is a difference between professional and opportunistic offenders.
