A police officer who saved the life of a teenage boy after he was stabbed at a Halloween party last year has been praised by an Island Deemster.
PC David Schumacher administered life-saving first aid to 17-year-old Douglas man Owen Plaskett who'd been attacked in his garden by another teen high on LSD.
Last week Deemster Montgomerie paid tribute to the officer as he sentenced the perpetrator, 19-year-old Jack Bridson, to four years in prison.
Chief Constable Gary Roberts also honoured the PC by awarding him a certificate of commendation earlier this year - he says it shows the reality of modern policing:
