Dairy farming here more sustainable than UK

Dairy farming on the Isle of Man is much more sustainable than in the UK.

That's the reassuring message from the winners of the 'Tomorrow Farmer' award.

205 Holstein Friesian dairy cows reside at Ballavarry Farm - its farmer Tim Johnston believes we have a better system here.

Around 200 UK dairy producers have given up since the beginning of the year due to milk prices being slashed.

Tim says there are hurdles to overcome but the sector is working in cohesion:
