New eco-homes will significantly reduce energy bills

Energy bills in two new eco-homes in Castletown will come in at 10 per cent of traditional heating costs.
The three-bed houses in Janet's Corner, which are built to the Passivhaus standard, will be occupied by public sector tenants.
Infrastructure architect John Payne says they are built using methods aimed at reducing energy consumption.
The pilot project will be monitored over the next two years - it's hoped it will also spark interest from within the construction industry:
