Tynwald will be asked to approve a £7.2 million spend for a new mental health facility this month.
The proposed new facility would take the place of Grianagh Court based on the Noble's Hospital campus.
As it stands the site can't meet current or future need, having operated at full occupancy for several years - this could result in patients having to be admitted to UK facilities.
It would see capacity boosted by 30 per cent with 26 bed spaces.
The new purpose-built unit would adjoin the rehabilitation and recovery unit Geddyn Reesht.
