The 2015 stockcar racing season began last Sunday

Before the racing started you could have heard a pin drop during a minutes silence in memory of my father Jack Whitehead who died suddenly in Frankfurt Germany on 12th April.

1st Choice Windows White and Yellow grade ministox were first on track, Kieron Shimmin took the honour of been the first driver to take the chequered flag in the new season.  Danny Warburton held on to second closely followed over the line by Jack Dobson, Harry Watson and Josh Watson.

Kieron continued his good form winning the three remaining races from Eedin Kennaugh, Kayleigh Cannell, Orry Kennaugh, Jack, Harry, Josh and Danny.
The Jaks bar sponsored trophies were presented to 1st Kieron, 2nd Eedin and 3rd Kayleigh.

Seven Formula 2s gridded for the first race of the Mann Construction Championship. The crowd were treated to a fast and furious race with bumpers used and positions changing on every lap. 2014 Champion Dougie Kinrade won from Cliona Collins ahead of father Timmy, Gary Davenport and Paul Fearn.

Dougie won the remaining two races with second place finishes recorded by Paul and Cliona.
The Jaks bar trophies were awarded to 1st Dougie, 2nd Cliona and 3rd Timmy.

A good field of 12 Energy Fm Bangers provided the action which we are accustomed to, 2014 Champion Ryan Henderson spun out before even crossing the start line !

Adam Quayle drove a controlled race to win from fellow newcomer Spud Collister and Jonny Kelly.

Race  2 saw cars strewn around the raceway the race was so chaotic only four of the ten starters made it to the finish. Adam won from Ryan, Scott Farthing and Tom Cairns.

Adam won again taking victory in race 3 followed by Jonny, Steven Guest, newcomer Josh Dalimore, Ryan and Tom.
Adam was awarded 1st Jaks trophy with Jonny 2nd and Ryan 3rd.

The Pizza King sponsored Production Rods first race was for 2015 newcomers and ladies, Josh Ffrench, Tom Richards and Leonie Ward in a bright yellow new shape mini all made their track debuts.

Georgina Moore soon powered her way to the front winning from Sarah Maginn and Angela Crellin, all drivers completed race distance.

Sixteen Production Rods around the tight Onchan track made lap scoring eventful, good close racing saw Matt Kelly win race 1 from Leigh Sheppard, Kevin Hooper won race 2 followed by 2014 Champion Robert Hooper, Matt raced to another victory in race 3 finishing ahead of Robert. Eleven drivers completed race distance, including Josh and Tom who both gained experience throughout the afternoon.

Matt was awarded 1st overall with the 2nd and 3rd Jaks trophies presented to Kevin and Robert.

Racing returns to regular Monday evenings on 4th May starting at 7.30 pm.
