MHK reacts after reports of further silt spill in Peel

Onchan MHK David Quirk says he's had reports of another spill of silt between the Peel Harbour and Poortown Quarry yesterday.

Mr Quirk told us he was a witness to the first silt spill on Peel's roads - the aftermath resulted in an apologetic response by Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne.

Yesterday, Mr Quirk sent a letter to chairman of the Public Accounts Committee Alf Cannan MHK - asking why a planning application 'failed to be submitted' for the works.

Information on the tender process for dredging and transportation and on the involvement of the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has also been requested.
