The Island's General Registry is to undergo a significant re-structure next month.
It means the Land, Deeds, and Civil Registries, the Charities Register and the Public Record Office will be moved to the Department of Economic Development.
There, they will merge with the Companies Registry to create a new Central Registry.
The Courts and Tribunals Service will remain where it is.
However, Legal Aid administration will transfer to the Social Security Division of the Treasury.
Government is insisting that there'll be no redundancies as a result of the changes - which are expected to generate savings in the IT budget.
