Murder Trial: Son giving evidence in father's trial

Wed, 18 Mar 2015

Jurors in the trial of Castletown man accused of murder are hearing from his son - who was speaking to his father during an altercation with a Ballabeg man who later died.

26-year-old Robert Anderson, who lives in England, is giving evidence at Douglas Courthouse in the case against 40-year-old Ian Anderson

He denies murdering 60-year-old Neil Roberts - the gardener's body was found at his home on Queen Street in the early hours of December 1st 2013.

The jury has been told how the father and son were using FaceTime to communicate with a series of video calls during the evening of November 30th and the early hours of December 1st.

In one call Robert Anderson described how he could hear his father shouting "they're hitting me" alongside "screaming and smashing" before Ian Anderson appeared back on screen with "blood pouring from his head".

The trial continues.
