Further work needs to be done by government to analyse the true cost of living on the Isle of Man.
That's the opinion of West Douglas MHK Chris Thomas who has concerns about how much is being spent per household and how much disposable income people have.
He is questioning if the Cabinet Office can extend the work done for the 2013 Household Income and Expenditure Survey.
Figures from that survey were published last year - it showed people at the top end of the scale have £250 of "free money" each week whereas people at the other end have £13 of debt.
