Motorists driving through Kirk Michael will not be slowed down by the introduction of a 20-mile per hour speed limit.
Despite calls by the local MHK to impose restrictions on Main Road the idea has been ruled out by Infrastructure bosses.
They say whilst the road, and its approaches, are being assessed the majority of road traffic collisions recorded there have not been linked to excessive speed.
However Alf Cannan says his constituents have raised concerns saying a number of factors make the road a hazard - he says residents should get what they want:
