Consumer confidence will be boosted by a new test which will ensure the food they're eating is locally produced.
That's according to the Environment Food and Agriculture Minister who says it'll give people peace of mind that 'food from the Isle of Man' is 100 per cent Manx.
Currently 70 per cent of meat sold on Island is imported - with DEFA aiming to reduce that figure in the coming years as part of the 'Food Matters' strategy.
The test is currently being developed by the University of East Anglia - Richard Ronan says it's a positive step.
