The Island's chief inspector has praised officers who dealt with an armed stand-off in Douglas last night.
Phil Shimmin says it was testament to them that a peaceful resolution was achieved on Head Road.
Police closed off the area between 7pm and 11pm describing it as a "domestic incident".
Officers brandishing riot shields and wearing helmets were seen surrounding a flat on Taubman Terrace.
A negotiator was used to bring the matter to a conclusion - one man has been arrested and is now in custody.
