Good entry for the Disc Shoot
Just before the Christmas break in the shooting season, the indoor Disc Shoot took place at Sinclair, St Johns and a reasonable entry of nine turned up for this enjoyable fun night. The prize in this competition is a specially designed, silver .22 bullet provided by Lorrie Thompson who actually makes the prize. In this year’s match, Nick Brown and Richard Arthur were required to take part in a shoot off and the win went to Brown. This left the eight shooters to continue the knockout section. Mike Thompson was drawn against Martin Burns, Thomas Clague against Illiam Christian, Nick Brown against Orry Teare and Lorrie Thompson against Tracey Skelton. Wins went to The “Thompson”, Clague and Brown. The final found Mike Thompson against wife Lorrie with Lorrie taking her prize in fine fashion. In the pair’s competition, Richard Arthur and Nick Brown were successful. Thanks must go to Lorrie Thompson for both the prizes and the organisation on the night.
Dates for your Diaries
Tonight, January 13th, the Lady of Man Trophy takes place at The Sinclair Range St Johns and hopefully a larger entry than last year will compete in this ladies only competition.
League matches continue and next week’s matches, January 19th, have Port St Mary hosting Laxey, Sulby travel to St Johns for their match against IoMSC Sandsiders and Castletown host Kirk Michael. IoMSC Douglas have this week’s bye.
